All the best , i know the feeling, once we got told of a Meeting and then Hr would be present we knew the outcome. some managers or companies can be omg at times, without the workers they would not have the profits they make

Sorry OP that’s really rubbish, keep an eye out for vacancies you could be redeployed to Flowers

Pettifoggery83 · 16/12/2024 14:48

Thanks..the mad thing is they are still recruiting for vacancies within the wider team.

I'm so sorry OP. I worked closely with local government for many years and within it for a while. I know that many people working in local authorities have been 'at risk' many times in the last couple of decades even if they haven't been made redundant in the end. It is soul destroying. But so many people think the public sector is the land of milk and honey.

Hopefully, the fact that there is finally going to be some investment in services will mean there are more jobs coming up, if not in a LA in an adjacent organisation.

that does take the biscuit, especially when they say eg its not profitable then go and spend x amounts on new hires when the return on investment would be alot less, sometimes it does not add up or theres other plans afoot etc
