Eeek. Any tips? It’s on zoom in the morning and I am so nervous. My first interview returning to work after my two little ones!

Well done on getting an interview!

At this stage the only thing I’d recommend is making sure you can connect to Zoom. Maybe do a trial run with a friend? I’ve been on both sides of an interview, and it’s annoying having tech issues that eat into the interview time. Just remember the interviewer will want you to do well, so just be yourself.

Good luck, try to get some sleep 😴

Thank you so much! I’m so nervous. I’ll do a zoom test from DH. My internet can be iffy so hopefully there’s not too many glitches!

turn the router on and off to help with the net connection

Beauty of zoom is you can look immaculate on your top half but be in joggers underneath!
You can also have a copy of your cv in front of you and some good pre planned questions and answers. E.g. what can you bring to the role, what would you do in your first 6 months, tell me your experience of …..,.
Look at the Job description and what they are looking for and think of examples where you have demonstrated what they want.
Don’t forget to ask some good questions at the end, like : what do you see as the priorities for the role?
Remember it’s important it is the right role for you too.
I wouldn’t ask to much about hours/working from home unless they raise it. You can broach that once they’ve offered you the job!
Good Luck!

Ooh good luck!

It can be a bit nerve-wracking after a break but you'll soon get back into the swing of it

missdeamenor · 16/12/2024 06:46

Wishing you all the luck in the world. Am sure you'll do well.

Thank you all so much. I really needed some encouragement!! DS was up most of the night. Gosh returning to the workplace is stressful isn’t it!

I once had an interview on zoom and my Internet went down and cut the call. I was panicking but logged back on, apologised, laughed about it and carried on. They later said that one of the reasons I'd got the job was because I'd remained calm under that pressure.

Do your company research, do a full zoom check and have water, a copy of your CV and a pen and notebook to hand. Go for a wee beforehand and log on a few minutes early. If anything does go wrong technology wise, just carry on and log on again.

@RolyPolyOll how did it go?
