What fresh hell is this...

I came home from a 3 day work trip on Wednesday to house with a poorly DH and children. Waited on my turn

Sure enough I started feeling rough on Friday afternoon. All my joints ached- from my fingertips to my toes. No runny nose or sneezing but aches and a banging sore head. Friday night I had the worst chills but temp was 36.6 Took some painkillers at 2am because the shivering woke me up. By 3am I was feeling hot but temp was 36.8 (I took it 2 times).

Woke up again at 6am. Shivering. Normal temp so took more painkillers and sure enough shivering stopped and I woke up at 9am a sweaty mess.

This has been the pattern since Friday. Shivering cold and then sweating after pain relief. Still no runny nose or sneezing but a cough is starting. The body aches are still killing me. Spent all weekend lying on sofa or in bed with the dressing gown of doom on and no appetite.

I'm guessing some sort of virus and nothing I can do except ride it out.

Anyone else suffering and want to join me in wearing the dressing gown of doom?

But I do have an appetite but no energy to actually get any food.

We had to cancel our wedding anniversary dinner reservations.

This is probably a silly question, but have you taken a covid test?

There is a very weird virus going around. Some very young and fit people I work with have ended up in hospital with respiratory issues and pneumonia. Lots of others have been at home with chest infection/ temperature/ body aches. Not people who would normally be off and we didn’t have this level of sickness during Covid!

Sounds like flu to me as well. You need to rest.

And see a doctor if you don't improve.

I was like this last time I had covid. Banging headache, chills, sweats and aching all over. Did have a bit of a stuffy nose and cough lasted a few weeks. That was my 3rd time having it and I definitely felt much worse this time!

Get yourself some ginger shots with turmeric and black pepper, super dose the vit c and sleep as much as possible. Sounds like flu I remember having this just before Christmas a few years ago. I also had cold symptoms and was vomitting, hands down worst I've ever felt to date.
Hopefully as it's been round your house already and you've had it a few days you should all be healthy by Christmas 🤞🏻

I've got the same but thankfully the aches have gone. Felt slightly better yesterday, then today back to feeling terrible again. I'm eating small amounts, but everything is going straight through me.
unfortunately i think its one of those viruses that you're just going to have to let it take its course
