Looking back now lessons did you learn from your divorce

My divorce is complete and has been for a few years

Before my divorce I always used to think things would get better

Now I am divorced I no longer think that

They just are better

Both my kids have gone from being disruptive in school to (especially one of them) being the top of his class

The teacher's at his school all comment on how amazing they are now doing

I now have the kids 7 days a week and often do not get any payments from my ex

But we get on well together and I'm not one who goes for revenge I just wanted to get on with my life after everything

I'm financially poorer as I had to buy my ex out the house, lost an income and get little money from them (they often do not work)

But life is now simpler emotionally and I don't have them causing situations then pointing out how I'm a bad parent

How is your life now before and after divorce?

It's a massive choice to make that you can not change once done, both emotionally and financially

Most people will probably be a lot poorer (I am) and also loose some access to there kids (I didn't)

I've gone from a massive house with land to living with my elderly parent, but like you @Donotpanicoknowpanic life is also just better. Simpler, calmer and happier.

I no longer need medication for chronic anxiety and clinical depression and I don't have panic attacks now. No more walking on eggshells, feelings of dread and waking up with a sinking feeling.

I can now focus on myself and am in the process of fixing the damage that I did through eating my emotions whilst married to an abusive man.

Life is good. I am happy.
