Lighthearted!

So, we all know that an MN chicken will feed a family for a week? How about a mushroom that will feed a family for a week?!

But combine the mushroom AND the chicken, you're sorted for 2 weeks!

I’d eat that in one sitting I love mushrooms.

SharpOpalNewt · 15/12/2024 06:38

It wouldn't remotely feed a family for a week, as mushrooms have hardly any calories. I love them but it isn't something you can live off.

SweetBobby · 15/12/2024 06:49

In all fairness, the mushroom does weigh 5kg. 5kg of meat actually could feed a family for a week. So not really a 'mumsnet chicken'.

The MN chicken is a myth and rolled out in any thread someone thinks it will fit for hilarity. Spoiler - it’s not remotely funny.

Giant puffballs are delicious and huge and last quite well so I can easily imagine one being a part of each meal for a week (and eventually getting a bit boring).

But I have two issues with that BBC article, one, there is no way you could mistake any other fungus for a Giant puffball, two, they are NOT VEGETABLES.

apologies for shouting, but really

Sometimes the first reply just nails it 😂
