Help needed to make playlist

Roystonv · 14/12/2024 07:49

I am 64, no mobile and I need a cheap, easy, low tech (words of one syllable) way of making a playlist to be played throughout a special meal. I do not have the pieces on vinyl/cd so needs to be downloaded from online. Yes, I grew up recording things by using a tape cassette! Many thanks in advance.

Where do you plan on playing the music from? Someone else's phone, or a computer/laptop?

I’m guessing you don’t have Spotify or other streaming service?
If you don’t have anything on vinyl/CD, I’m not sure how else you could get the music. If you can access YouTube, there are lots of readymade playlists on there that you could play. Do you have a speaker?

Is there someone else going or who you know who has, and could help you with this and play it for you during the meal?

Either someone's phone or laptop, never thought about needing a speaker. No Spotify but could get it but will it be expensive and will I then have access to record a variety of music? I don't want a ready made playlist. All this before I work out how to record it!

There is a free version of Spotify with adverts but you might be able to get a free trial. Then you would be able to make a playlist by searching for the song you wanted, click the 3 dots on the right hand side and then click add to playlist. You don’t need to record anything, just add the songs in

To play it you can log in to Spotify on the laptop or phone. Sound quality will be better with a Bluetooth speaker

Wow thank you that sounds doable, will start investigating.
