Apple screen time hacks

Outsmarted by my kids. I've been monitoring their phones and they're on to me by checking their screentime and seeing the phones been used overnight. Can I cover my tracks? Do I turn off screentime before I look and then turn it back on again afterwards?

How old are they? Why can't they know you will be checking their phone on occasion?

Are they really monitoring their screen time that closely?

Eh? Unless they’re all 18 I’m not sure what the problem is! I tell my children all the time that I’ll be checking their phones.

If you use your apple device to look at the screen time inside the family settings, they can't see if you have or not.
Apple screen time is notoriously rubbish and there are plenty of complaints online going back years about it failing and access being granted whenever (and not by being hacked).

we have 10&8 y.o. and made an agreement with kids so they are aware we are monitoring their usage. We actually turned screentime into motivation - they only unlock their daily allowance after homework is completed. So they can make an impact on how much screentime they would get based on their behavior. And yes @Glittertwins, Apple Screentime is rubbish:)
