Help me get my life together

I am currently signed off sick from work for work related stress after my manager sexually harassed me. I’m not really doing much with my time off to be able to switch off from work, I’m either job hunting or giving my company a formal complaint/responding to their emails etc it’s been relentless.

As a result my home looks a bit messy, I haven’t kept on top of life admin and I haven’t been socialising much. It’s my friend’s birthday tomorrow and she wants to spend the day at mine. I need to tidy up, do a food shop and also get her a gift. I also need to get to the post office before 6pm. Any words or encouragement or a way to break this down into meaningful bits would really help. I don’t even know what gift to get her but I can head into the city centre.

Do the bits you like the least first so they are done. For me that would be the post office as I don't like going out of the house.

Think of how nice it'll be to see that friend and all the nice chats you will have 🥰

Thank you. Just managed to get to the post office before they closed so that’s sorted!

I’m heading into town now but no idea what gift to get her!

Be compassionate towards yourself. Think what you would say to your friend if they had gone through what you have.

Well done for doing these things! This sounds so traumatic.
When you get back from the shops or tomorrow morning , to get ready for a guest you could do the following in about 20 minutes:

  • Tidy hall - coats, shoes away (5 minutes)
  • kitchen tidy - dishes, wipe down sides, quick floor brush/ hoover 10 mins
  • wipe sink/ loo 5 mins
  • living room tidy in 5
i do the guided cleans on Tomm Rocks if that helps.

Thank you both, for being so kind. I ended up getting her a few things and managed to convince her to go out so don’t have to do too much tidying or entertaining at mine! X

That’s good! Enjoy your time tomorrow. 💐
