Help with a Christmassy tour of the Cotswolds please

Parents in law are visiting next weekend (20-24 December). They are older now and have mobility issues, so have requested that we go for a “Christmassy drive” through the Cotswolds.

We live near Witney, so I guess Burford (but the hill would make it hard to get out and walk), the Slaughters, Bourton …

Can anyone help me put together an itinerary? Also stopping off places for lunch. I had hoped to book an afternoon tea but they have only just decided to visit and everywhere I have looked at is booked up. So maybe a nice meal in an old pub.

Any recommendations very gratefully received!

We love Burford garden centre, the restaurant is fab and they have a great shopping centre selling all sorts of everything as well as plants. You could then drive through the town? There are several lovely pubs there.

Stow on the Wold a lovely little town, especially if you can park in the centre and some great tea shops? Tetbury too - the Highgrove shop worth a visit, and the Snooty Fox hotel a good shout for lunch. Very compact little town.

Westonbirt aboretum if they could hire mobility scooters? Lovely cafes in the centre of.

Westonbrit Arboretum. I’m pretty sure we did the Christmas tree festival there many years ago and it was lovely.

Painswick near Stroud is gorgeous with the old churchyard full of clipped yew trees (about forty of them!) The pub opposite the church (the Falcon Inn) has good lunch menus and iirc, serves sparkling wine from their own company's vineyard - and it is really good.

Stratford on Avon has beautiful Christmas lights to drive through

Thanks all. We usually go to Burford garden centre @Patienceinshortsupply. It’s lovely, isn’t it?

Some other lovely ideas too. Thanks so much!

I’ve never visited but my friend was in Broadway recently and said it was very Xmassy.
