We walk past this light feature twice a day every day... I say it's upside down, DH say no...

Who's right?

You're both right and both wrong.

tiaa54742025 · 12/12/2024 18:51

A star pointing like this looks very ominous!

TheBeesKnee · 12/12/2024 18:52

It's a falling star. Presumably you'd prefer it to be a shooting star?

Redglitter · 12/12/2024 18:53

It's the right way. Falling with the lights trailing behind

Borninabarn32 · 12/12/2024 18:53

It needs turning 90 degrees clockwise

This feels like an Are You an Optimist or a Pessimist test...

GildedRage · 12/12/2024 18:56

Should be more level. Obviously the window is too narrow

WhatsitWiggle · 12/12/2024 18:58

It should be like this but the window is the wrong shape

Stars don't shoot up OP. It's a falling star.

Fireworknight · 12/12/2024 19:01

It’s a shooting star so is the correct way up.

TheNinthLock · 12/12/2024 19:02

I think it’s the correct way up.

SassK · 12/12/2024 19:03

Neither. It should be on its side thus 👇

TribulationPeriwinkle · 12/12/2024 19:07

If you do an image search of “shooting star Christmas light” almost all the lights are shown with the star and trail heading upwards. So I think you’re right.

BoundaryLine · 12/12/2024 19:09

Yes it's upside down

JingleB · 12/12/2024 19:10

It’s curved more downwards than is usual because it’s on a narrow window, but down is better than up. It’s a shooting star on a curved downward trajectory.

Up would look weird. It’s not a rocket, it’s a falling star.

TrippTover · 12/12/2024 19:11

Surely stars shoot in any direction at all. It’s fine.

Nothatgingerpirate · 12/12/2024 19:16

It's fine, depends whether you are upside down or not 😂

KnopkaPixie · 12/12/2024 19:19

It's clearly a thinly disguised phallic symbol. I'd be careful, if I were you. There's a child's bike outside.

(Peter Kay, Phoenix Nights reference.)

So whichever way you point it, it's er...DH says that it's right to point down, you say that it's right to point up.

I'm shuddering a bit because...but somebody was bound to say it.

LSTMS30555 · 12/12/2024 19:21

I think you're right Op.
It just looks wrong that way; shooting down!

avaritablevampire · 12/12/2024 19:30

Either way if fine, although when I've seen real 'shooting' stars they sometimes look like they are arcing downwards, or zooming straight on.

LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole · 12/12/2024 20:44

It's shooting over the galaxy to see you and say hi. It's got that "just arrived" vibe.

Agreed...
