I need a new hoover that's good on hard floors, rugs and carpet. Not too heavy to carry as I struggle to get my current monstrosity up the stairs. Preferably cheaper to mid range price.
Any recommendations?

We have Hetty pet... Think only £100 now...

TinkerTiger · 12/12/2024 09:12

Miele C1

Best hoover ever

Sorry I should have said I prefer upright but happy to be persuaded differently.

We have a Miele C3 which is fantastic, after struggling with a few ineffectual uprights.

MissNoMoneyPenny · 12/12/2024 09:36

Sebo :-)

IntheArctic · 12/12/2024 09:38

I've always used an upright, but the Miele has converted me. It's brilliant. Ours is a C3, probably outside the price range you mention, but I found an ex display model very cheap.

Don't buy a Shark, they are an absolute waste of money.

We've also got a Sebo and it's brilliant, I agree. The Miele is so light to use that it sneaks into first place for me.

Shark pet upright with lift away canister.

Is this one heavy or light? Does it need bags and are they easy to change?

Miele C1 is very light and you can easily hoover stairs with it

I carry mine from stair to stair

The suction is crazy strong which I love

Yes they take bags

Each pack of bags also comes with new filters

Look for an ex display of the one you decide on - I saved well over £100.

There is a small upholstery attachment which is perfect for stairs

rumred · 12/12/2024 09:50

Another vote for miele c3. I got it on offer, about 130 I think. Prior to that I'd always used uprights. This changed my mind. Also a friend has a very expensive shark and it's horrible - heavy and an uncomfortable handle.

Hotafternoon · 12/12/2024 09:52

I have two Sebo bagged hoovers, one upstairs and one downstairs.

Expensive but worth it, bag holds huge amounts and no faffing about with filters and emptying container every time it's used.

Worth the money for me.

Yes, has bags and they are dead easy to change. And the hoover has a display to show when the bag needs changing.

It’s compact and very light!

Just bought a Katcher wet and dry now down to £55 in Argos nicknamed yellow peril much better suction than previous hoovers including Henry and Miele

What does it mean by wet and dry?

Have to say it is noisy and not the most attractive hoover but after spending a fortune on hoovers and filters on various other hoovers it does the job and so cheap 😘
