What film to watch on my day alone tomorrow

I have a whole day tomorrow (well, until school pick up) just me, the sofa and the tv remote and I need a rest day so no chores for me. Whoop. Any suggestions for films? I have missed so many over the last decade. I like clever romcoms or films like American Fiction or Hit Man.

Am considering Anyone but you.

But bonus points for anything Christmassy.

So hit me with your best clever funny Christmassy romcoms please

Last Christmas with Emilia Clarke was a pretty decent watch.

Also enjoyed Your Christmas Or Mine.

Ladies in Black is a delight. And a wonderful book, too.

SugarandSpiceandAllThingsNaice · 11/12/2024 23:17

Ladies in Black is very good. 1960s Sydney Australia.

I watch Office Christmas Party every year. Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman and tons of brilliant actors all stealing the film from one another. I laugh so much I hurt myself. It was made in 2016 and I can't belive its not better known. It has a sort of chaotic energy that seems to me very authentic.
However my favourite other films are Bring it On, Starship Troopers, Hot Fuzz and Zombieland 1 and 2. So you might get an idea of what I like. I'm a horror comedy 1980s satire sort of person.

A man called Otto on Netflix
Wonka with Timothee Chalamet

There's a great Norwegian series called Home for Christmas on Netflix.

If you want something classic, The Bishop's Wife is good.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 12/12/2024 10:12

(not necessarily clever, but I like it. Just old-fashioned and cosy)
