Coeliac disease test and bread/gluten

My GP wants to do a Coeliac test. Am I right in thinking that you have to eat a certain amount of bread etc beforehand? If so how much per day and for how long?

My daughter was just told to carry on with her normal diet but I believe official advice is to have gluten in at least one meal a day for 6 weeks before testing.

If this is an initial blood test, I would also warn you to keep eating gluten until you get the result. If you need to move on to the next stage of testing (repeat blood tests and/or gastroscopy) you will need to keep eating gluten. This is why so many drop out of the diagnosis process and don’t end up ‘officially diagnosed’.
