Fleece (polyester) Dressing Gown keeps giving me static/electric shocks. What other material is warm but won't give me shocks?

Maybe I am more staticky than your regular person. Also during winter my home is quite dry (humidity 38%) and the house is carpeted.

Towelling ones are 100% cotton, so no static.

Cheaper than coffee to jolt you wide-awake though 🤣

Are you using fabric softener? I find it helps stopping static.

No, do you suggest when I do a wash of my polyester garments I add fabric softener? Or should I wash the gown separately and add softener?
