Does anyone else get this??

I'm mid 40s. I have one random stubble hair that grows out of my chin. Pluck it out, comes back again a month later. But when it's growing back I can totally feel it. Like, before the hair appears, my skin totally tingles and there is an itchy ache where this one hair grows. Anyone else??

Yes, definitely! It will drive me absolutely mad.

minipie · 11/12/2024 00:15

Yep. And I have a few. Incredibly annoying.

But it’s almost worth it for the amazing feeling when you get it out 👌👌

FuckItItsFine · 11/12/2024 00:17

Yup. It sometimes gets a bit ingrown and you get a bit of gunk when you pluck it out too 🙂

Yep, mine started in my early 50's, I get that pale grey wiry strong one low on my chin and I can feel it before seeing it, it really is like having a piece of wire sticking out of my skin but it's the long black curly one that appears suddenly halfway down my neck that really bugs me, I can do my makeup in the morning and by evening there is this two inch long curly black hair there, how can it grow so fast, it must be concertinaed under the skin before busting through. I now have mini tweezers in my handbag, car, desk, caravan and suitcase with a selection of full sized in the bathroom!!!! Also the torch on the phone is great for lighting them up, no shame here I've plucked them in the aldi carpark. Have to say since I got my HRT pretty balanced I've not had many and it just occurred to me that it's at least a month since the tweezers were used.

Yes and it will have friends soon!

Rogerstreasures · 11/12/2024 15:32

How many of you are rubbing your chin while you’re reading this post?😆.

OAPapparently · 11/12/2024 15:40

Yep.
The humiliating point of my single chin hair was when someone tried to get the ‘eyelash’ off my chin!

IrisApfel · 11/12/2024 15:42

I had this for years, then it turned into a huge painful spot which I popped and it's never grown back.

LovelyLittleBitofSquirrel · 11/12/2024 15:43

Mine is on my right knee 🤷‍♀️

bridgetreilly · 11/12/2024 15:45

Welcome to the menopause!

WeeOrcadian · 11/12/2024 15:52

Just the one? Lucky you!!!

I get one very thin light hair that appears at about 2" long overnight on my forehead from time to time. It definitely isn't there the day before.

afrikat · 11/12/2024 17:54

Glad to see it's not just me 🤣

I had electrolysis to get rid of mine. Four different hairs have grown in similar places. Driving me mad.
