Antihistamine for toddlers

Can anyone recommend an antihistamine for toddlers? We've been advised by the Dr for our DD2 to take one daily.

We've tried Piriton which she took fine, but you need multiple doses and thst wasn't working with her being at nursery. It also didn't seem to do much and she still had itchy eyes etc.

We've switched to Clarityn which is 1 dose a day but she hates it. She does take it, but always gags and nearly throws up.

As we've got to do this daily for the foreseeable I'd like to try and make it as stress free s possible.

The Dr's didn't prescribe anything, just said to use an over the counter one.

Many thanks

You could try piriteze/cetirizine. It’s a trial and error thing with my DC - they hated the minty flavour of piriton and it made them really sleepy, piriteze was ok but I didn’t feel like it was doing much, they currently use Clarityn because they like the taste and it seems to work well for their symptoms.

Or speak to a pharmacist - ours was really helpful when I said I wanted DC to try something other than Piriton and what did they recommend.

Thanks! Oddly enough she likes the minty/menthol flavour of the piriton but definitely trial and error. I'll pop into the pharmacy when I can. Our next hospital appointment about it isn't until January so can't ask the clinic until then.
