Another vote for Booja Booja if truffles count

Also, don't get Montezuma's Absolute Black unless you know the recipient is into that sort of thing. Someone got that for me once, so now I know 😂

Such a strange answer 😅 they mean exactly what they said, dairy free.

Nomo for us, especially the cookie dough one!

Not strange at all. A lot of people don't actually like dark chocolate, especially not kids. You can now get far more non-dairy milk chocolates than you ever could a few years ago. The OP doesn't make it clear what she's looking for.

You can rein in the condescension.

bakewellbride · 10/12/2024 21:28

@Sheknowsyouknowaye the op clearly specified dairy free chocolate. Not sure why you are talking about dark chocolate or a 'box of chocolates'. Dairy free is pretty straightforward and everyone else understood it without any issue.

Kingsleadhat · 10/12/2024 21:32

Chocolate bars ..Ombar is lovely, Huju is divine

FFS - you don't seem appreciate there are different types of dairy free chocolate or that for a gift someone might be interested in something other than a bar of chocolate. It's not me who is ignorant about dairy free chocolate. I've been buying dairy free chocolate for someone with CMPA for years.

Booja! We’re not vegan but love these!!

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 10/12/2024 22:34

I got a friend who can’t have dairy the Hotel Chocolat dairy free reindeer last year and she loved them.

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 10/12/2024 22:42

booja booja, nothing else compares.

NoNameIdeas · 10/12/2024 23:03

My absolute favourite is the vegan H box from hotel chocolat, it is amazing!
The vegan galaxy chocolate is pretty nice too if it's just a bar of chocolate you need

MuskIsACnt · 11/12/2024 00:37

Ombar is my absolute fav. The hazelnut paste and cacao nibs.

Also love BoojaBooja chocolate.

TofuTart · 11/12/2024 00:40

I'm dairy free (allergies) and Nomo is amazing!
The chocolate caramel bar being my favourite.

DustyLee123 · 11/12/2024 06:42

Thanks for your replies.
I was asking about chocolate in general, no particular colour or presentation, which is why I didn’t specify.

It's interesting how tastes vary. DC had to go dairy free from 8 years old and won't eat any of the other brands.

Absolutely, that’s why I love a thread like this full of individual suggestions and reviews. I had to go dairy free as an adult and often think from a toddler would have been easier. Even at 8 you can remember what your dairy filled favourites were.
On the upside todays offerings are magnificent compared to even a decade ago.

I have to be strict with myself over those. They are bloody lovely. Far too lovely...Wink

Vinorosso74 · 11/12/2024 07:42

That Montezumas Absolute Black is too much. DP got me an Easter egg version one year, I couldn't eat it so it got made into a very nice cake!
I like the Hotel Chocolat nutmilk (hazelnut) batons.

Fifthtimelucky · 11/12/2024 12:55

The standard boxes of Elizabeth Shaw and Bendicks chocolate mints are vegan.

For bars of chocolate, Chocolonely does a good vegan one - dark almond and sea salt.

I agree with many others about Booja Booja truffles!

We have to have the Elizabeth Shaw box at Christmas. They're lovely.
