Living in Paris FT

What's it like to live in the city? As in actually to live in the city and not just visit it for holiday.

I'm a Londoner and I've been on holiday there for a long weekend and enjoyed it.

But I'm thinking I'd like to perhaps spend a month or two working from the office there.

Probably not so different if it’s only a couple of months. Property rental is expensive though.

I enjoyed it for 16 years....but agree a couple of months is not really like living there as you could fill your weekends up with tourist type visits rather than getting into a home city rhythm IYSWIM.

Living there, I found that we mainly stayed local at the weekends (walking distance) because we were fed up with the work week metro commutes. Either that or we drove outside Paris to see something different.

Weekends were also catching up on chores and groceries and sports and playdates for the kids. Occasionally seeing friends. Normal life really.
