Vinted scam :(

After believing I was pretty savvy at spotting Vinted scams…I have been scammed. On a fairly high price item. I received a different item than I ordered. Clear from the packaging that it wasn’t correct so filmed myself opening it. Seller has somehow bypassed posting the tracking details etc on Vinted so it still shows as not yet posted. I have put in a claim to Vinted. Is there anything else I should be doing other than learning my lesson?!

Surely if it says not yet posted you can just cancel? Or raise it as not received. They can't release your money to the seller if they don't seem to post it.

SelfCareBear · 08/12/2024 14:33

If it stays as "not yet posted" for 7 days it'll automatically be cancelled anyway

YellowDaffodilRedTulip · 08/12/2024 14:35

If it says not posted yet, could they have mixed up the labels and sent the wrong item?

I would request to cancel it since it's showing not yet posted. Don't cite the reason as receiving the wrong item, just say you've changed your mind. Then the seller would have to admit they've sent you something/the wrong thing if they didn't accept the cancellation

Littletreefrog · 08/12/2024 14:40

Just cancel it. If the seller has sent you the wrong thing by accident they will contact you if not then they have lost whatever it is they did send and you haven't lost any money.

If not yet posted you can just cancel it.

Flamingo68 · 08/12/2024 17:06

I have tried to cancel it but they have declined my request to cancel it and clicked that they have posted it already. But have also ignored my messages about it. Hopefully Vinted can help or it will timeout and automatically refund as Vinted systems think it hasn’t been posted! The seller also had only one item for sale so I don’t think it is likely they posted the wrong item :(
