They are annoying enough at the best of times. But in a storm when I want to sleep, I want to rip them down and dance on their chimey graves

Ooh yes. I was glad when a previous storm bright then down! It wasn’t me, really! 😇

Healingsfall · 07/12/2024 23:34

Windchimes are great!

Chowtime · 07/12/2024 23:35

Go and speak to them (nicely though, yeah?) in the morning.

ConsuelaHammock · 07/12/2024 23:36

Cut them

Windchimes are great!

Not if you have close neighbours!

Healingsfall · 07/12/2024 23:39

Trust me, windchimes are bliss compared to barking dogs/kids screaming/parents shouting at their kids.

MrRobinsonsQuango · 07/12/2024 23:41

Wondering if you are our neighbours?! The previous owners left behind a wind chime, we realised we like it and left it hung up. Problem is our neighbours have dogs that yap, anytime from 6am to 1am so lm not really up for any conversations about noice with them 🤣

daffodilandtulip · 07/12/2024 23:50

Wouldn't it be tragic if the "storm" stole them away...

itsalwaysthesame · 07/12/2024 23:51

I'd take wind chimes over the blasting base of Turkish music being blared out from their garden mist Saturdays nights, wondering if I should go over there and knock as it's almost midnight and the base along with the cheering & shouting is beyond annoying now, they are six doors up too! Their poor neighbours

MayaPinion · 08/12/2024 00:02

Awful things. Can you take them?

Owmyelbow · 08/12/2024 12:27

It went quiet not long after I posted this. Hopefully they annoyed their owner enough to take them down

People on here will try and wind you up OP, because they're miserable. But I totally understand why windchimes are fucking hell on earth to live next to.
Tell your neighbour you don't like them, what's the worst that can happen.

SabbatWheel · 08/12/2024 12:30

Mine are out May to October. I bring them in over the winter for the neighbours’ sake, but they’re not very loud anyhow.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 08/12/2024 12:30

I have wind chimes.

But my neighbour smokes in the garden and I have to listen to him yakking up afterwards, so they can stay since his noise is worse.

icelolly12 · 08/12/2024 12:33

I love windchimes and had no idea they are so hated. Disclaimer I don't have any

aetquestions · 08/12/2024 12:36

I have loads. My neighbour hates them. The thing is I got them 6 months after they had moved in with their constantly barking dog. I explained politely that the day their dog stops barking all the time is the day I’ll take my wind chimes down.
