9 English counties and 4 areas in other countries.

Two of my grandparents lived their whole lives within a 10 minute walk of where they were born. I cannot imagine it!

mrsfollowill · 08/12/2024 00:39

Some of you have moved around a lot! I lived in 4 different counties (all N England) as a child and have been in the same county now for 35 yrs (same house for most of that!) I've settled down Grin

5 counties (including university one)

For those who have lived in the same town, did you never go to university?

Tarkan · 08/12/2024 03:31

Is a city also counted as a county?

Grew up in Glasgow, moved to Angus as a child and been there ever since (3 moves within same town). I've only ever actually lived in 5 different houses in my 40-something years.

And random fact that no-one ever asked for: every place I've lived has been an odd number.

BlackChunkyBoots · 08/12/2024 03:32

Because of proximity to my parents house, the hospital I was born in was in one county, but I grew up just over the border in another county! I've live in London for nearly 30 years too.

Same as my DD, but London Boroughs. She considers herself from one borough, though the hospital she was born in is technically in another, and she is being educated in a third.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nope, never went to university. I have a very large extended family and none of my cousins did either, it was just assumed that we'd leave school at 16 and get a job.
