  3. I like most of them I think
  4. All of it! My favourite part of Christmas
  5. Don't really have any but we always go away just after Christmas for a couple of nights
CharliesAngles · 07/12/2024 16:13
  1. Home Alone
  2. Wham! Last Christmas (love the cheese)
  3. Silent Night, especially in its original language, German.
  4. Pigs in blankets
  5. Decorating the tree with the music on, drinks and everyone chipping in. Some of our decorations are 20+ years old so it's nice to get them out and DCs chatter way about their memories.

Snap! on No.1 @Funkyslippers 😄

Though I haven't watched Gremlins in years, might have to look for it.

Film : Gremlins.
Song : Feliz Navidad.
Carol: Little Donkey, Good King Wenceslas.
Food: All of it.

Tradition: Quite a new one, as in formed in adulthood from 21 onwards when I moved abroad - watching Miss France with all the complex interegional politics that makes Eurovision look balanced and amicable.

Bittercup · 07/12/2024 18:27

It's a Wonderful Life.
Christmas Wrapping.
O Holy Night.
Cheese and more cheese.
'The Lighting of the Fire' we are lucky enough to have an open fire and after putting up the tree and decorating on 1st December the fire is lit for the first time since last winter. A large glass of Baileys may or may not be included.

CharliesAngles · 08/12/2024 14:46

DCs have just come home from their grandparents with jars of homemade mincemeat and they've helped in-laws decorate their tree 🎄
That's another set of traditions for them 😍

Favourite Christmas film - Home Alone / Elf / National Lampoons / Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Favourite Christmas song - love all the ones everyone seems to hate in here (Slade, The Pogues, John Lennon etc). Have a real soft spot for the Ed Sheeran and Elton John song. And Yes to Feliz Navidad.
Favourite Christmas carol (tune, not Vorderman 😅) - Ding Song Merrily on High or Oh Come All Ye Faithful. Have to also add the original German Silent Night too. Adore this!!
Favourite Christmas food - Christmas dinner but I love all of it
Favourite Christmas tradition - a beautiful large real Christmas tree. I always had a fake tree growing up, which we loved doing but we were never allowed to get a real one (my folks spent a lot - even back then - on a fake one so it was used every year!). Now I always opt for a massive real tree. We have an 8ft one this year.
