Everyone in our house is currently ill with an awful virus. Duration is between 2 and 7 weeks so far! I don't know if it's the same one (I think so) or if it keeps evolving.
Today none of us can get out of bed. Sore throat, cough, headache and, worst of all, total fatigue. Pretty sure it's not covid - doesn't feel like it and we've tested a few times. Honestly it's worse than covid. Not flu either.

I’ve had bacterial tonsillitis for 2 weeks - and counting. On second round of antibiotics - I feel your pain. I know others suffering with what you have and it’s been 2 weeks for them. I hope you feel better soon

@trying29 where in the country are you? Wondering if it's wide spread. We're in Yorkshire

Heading into week 3 for me - south coast.

First covid, confirmed by a test as hubby has to test for work. So felt horrific with that for about 7 days, felt much better for about 5 and went to our school Christmas fayre.

Well that was a huge mistake as caught the flu and have been even worse than when I had covid for 6 days now. Still have a high temperature, was 42.5 degrees at one point, my cough is horrible and hurts and I'm so tired it's just yuck.

I'm a walking advert for what happens when you don't get your flu jab. Never want to feel like this again.

I’ve got pneumonia and antibiotics which thankfully are working 2nd day in. Left it too long before GP.

JetskiSkyJumper · 07/12/2024 12:32

Yes. An annoying cold and cough, largely gone but now my sinuses are still bunged up and the sore throat just comes and goes. Very annoying.

We had virus that reduced us to a bed bound mess of fevers and shivers three weeks ago. It took well over a week to be up resume the basics with lingering hacking cough but even now, with the symptoms passed, we are still easily shattered and off to bed early. I don't know what it was, I think it may have been the flu - although two of us had been immunised.

I’ve been generally unwell for 6 weeks a now. Haven’t had so much as a cold for a year…

Think Covid but didn’t test initially. It’s been very up and down - getting better for half a day then feeling worse again.

Main symptoms have been exhaustion, heavy, irritated chest, had a blocked ear for 2 weeks and also have rib pain.

Hoping to turn a corner this week. I am now resting more as terrified it will turn in to long Covid.

My son is at university in Sheffield and has been ill for about 3 weeks now with the symptoms you describe. His housemates have been ill too, I know at least one of them needed antibiotics to finally shake it.

I just can't believe how long it's lasting. Struggling into work now and then but getting further and further behind.
