Missed DPD delivery - what now?

DPD attempted to deliver a parcel to me while I was out, and now I can't figure out what happens next!

I got a text notification saying they were going to attempt delivery at a time when I know I wouldn't be there; I followed the links to try to change the delivery slot, but the links they gave me didn't work. Couldn't find any help on their site, so eventually gave up and decided they'd probably just re-try if I wasn't in the first time.

While I was out, got the notification to say they couldn't deliver. Fine. Expected there to be a "Missed Delivery" card when I got home, but nothing. Went on the website to track the parcel and got the attached image.

What do I do now? Will they attempt re-delivery or do I have to pick it up from somewhere? Will they eventually text me to tell me? Can't get anywhere on their website.

They usually automatically try the next day.

Download the app, you can leave your delivery preferences on there. I always get the regular driver (village) to leave stuff in a parcel box behind the shed. They automatically try next day anyway but you can track the driver on the app and where they are.

Their app / website is frustrating though.

DPD seems to be the only courier that don't try a neighbour too.

Set up an account and use the app, it works brilliantly.

@Patienceinshortsupply

That's great but lots of us live in major cities.

If you have an account you can set preferences that all of the drivers can follow.

I have apps for all the courier companies. I order lots.

Or two days later... This happened to me on Tuesday, finally got the parcel Thursday evening. They should text you with the new delivery slot (eventually).

You can tell them on the app that you would like your parcel left with a neighbour and which one. I took in a parcel for my neighbour yesterday. I find the app very easy to use myself. I like it that you see what time your delivery is coming, where the driver is and how many stops away they are.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like they'll be back at some point! I've always been able to use the website to redirect or reschedule things before, but it just isn't working this time! I don't really order enough to want to download an app, but it might be the only option!

DPD are on my shit list.

I am waiting for an item (meant to arrive yesterday at X time). Checked today and it said delivered. No-one knocked. Most odd. After calling the company I placed the order with - as I had zero joy with DPD themselves - I was told it was left in my basement? I don't have a basement.

Anyway the item in being replaced as we can only assume they tossed it into my neighbours basement (neighbours are away!! Won't be back for another week) and I obviously have no access to their basement.... neighbours have a main front door and don't access their property from the basement, it's literally just a sheer drop down to the lower level of their house? So technically they do "deliver" to neighbours I guess.

Useless, shit company and I'm just lucky the company I ordered with are on the ball and reasonable.

They allegedly tried again (I didn't hear the door, despite sitting quietly in the house at the time). So I got the same text message again. The app won't accept my postcode and the website still isn't working for me! Argh!
