I'm just finishing my first cuppa, with my tablets, then off up to get dressed and make sure dd1's up!

We're off to Harrogate today for the Christmas market 🎄 so leaving bright and early.

Plan is a very steady mooch as I've injured my foot somehow & it's quite painful.

When we get home it'll be cuppa & probably bed for me 💤

We were supposed to be going out today but the place is closed due to the storm. Instead I'm going to finish rearranging my book cases (just had new shelves put up), and tidying the house. We'll also play board games and hopefully my daughter finish the half term's homework project (making a model so rather fun). Nice cosy day in!

Oh my gosh. I'm so very sorry to read about your DD.

I hope you and your family are able to muddle through this dark time as best you all can.

It's very early days and it must be a hideous and traumatic loss for you all.

Dd2 woke up at 6 so up early. Haven’t had a decent nights sleep in over a year 😅 Dd1 is in bed with me whilst dd2 eats toast near us. Advent calendars already raided. Dh gone to visit his parents this morning.

This morning we’re going to the tip as have a load of bags to drop off. Then into town to visit library to return books. Might grab girls a Greggs. My filling fell out last night so visit to boots to see if they have a repair kit. It’s not a root canalled tooth so giving me jip already.

Early evening we have Santa visit but it’s at our local farm which last year had horrendous wind. Looks like it’ll be same this year too by the forecast. Hoping they don’t cancel it.

Good morning - thanks for starting the thread @lucysmam

A later start than usual for me, it's been a tiring & stressful week as DS was unwell last weekend & was in hospital until Monday evening. We all need a quiet, restful weekend! I have just let the DDog out & had my first coffee in bed. This morning I will post some parcels then hope to go to the Christmas Tree festival at a church in the town.

Reading some of the storm chat, sounds horrendous in the west, we are predicted high winds but not on that scale...hope everyone stays safe.

Also have some Christmas decorations to put up - I love the run up to Christmas!

Looking forward to watching Black Doves with DH this evening.

I’m just about to drink my first coffee while sitting by my Christmas tree.

We are supposed to be spending the afternoon in Central London, but despite being on amber alert in our Greater London location, it sounds much worse outside and I’m wondering as to whether we should cancel.

Currently on the sofa, cuddled up with a hot water bottle and watching the storm rage outside. DS is reading, I'm scrolling and we have The Polar Express on in the background.

We'd planned a few bits today but they've all been cancelled due to the weather. DM is in hospital so we'll try and get out to see her when it calms down a bit - I feel we become a bit like a prison drug pipeline when she's an inpatient. I have a list of things people on the ward with her who don't have visitors today want that I need to go scrounge up first 😂 God forbid I turn up without a newspaper, some fluffy socks and plenty of treats!

Will eat lunch whilst in town getting the required supplies. I'm feeling like a burrito bowl 😋 Then I think we'll have a roast for dinner, I'm really in the mood for one!

We're going to cancel today's trip & try again next weekend. Thanks everyone for the head's up - for some reason storm Darragh had completely bypassed me!

So, total change of plans for the day & it's still 8am!

The girls are going to do homework & tidy their rooms. I'm going to catch up with Christmas Chronicles, make stollen with dd1, and crochet. I might snow spray my other kitchen window too - I'll scroll tiktok for another easy tutorial, and put up my ceiling decs 😊

Working until 13.00 then shopping for our bookclub's Christmas do.

Hmm, we're meant to be going to a Christmas fair then choosing our tree, but don't fancy manhandling it on top the car roof in this weather!
Maybe a log fire and some Christmas films instead!

Food shop this morning then cleaning before putting Christmas decs up tomorrow. Shame about weather , must be so much money lost for all of these events.

On the cusp of a red alert area and it’s been wild. Electricity and water were cut during the night- I know because someone’s house alarm went off as a result. Not sure if it’s really safe to go out at the moment. Just hoping the water and electricity are back so I can make a cup of tea .

day of chores and errands today, just back from a fantastic couple of days away and away Again tomorrow so I’m unpacking, packing and getting stuff done! ☑️

All bets are off due to Storm Darragh.

Usually we'd go to the farmers market (cancelled, due to the weather) and/or to a big park or open space (National Trust parks closed around here, due to the weather).

So we'll watch TV, do some crafts, try to make it through our huge pile of washing, potter around the house, and go to the cinema this evening to see Moana 2 (which ai fully expect to be mediocre).

Woke up this morning to part of our chimney in our back garden so currently messaging roofers! DS is off to a Beavers camp (thankfully in a bunk house, but quite an exposed location) so waiting to see if that remains on. DD and I are going to see the Wicked movie this afternoon and off to an Indian restaurant this evening - the restaurant is a tradition when her brother is away as he wouldn't eat the food!

Have caught DD's cold and am feeling grim, so I'm trying to rest in spite of the howling wind. Might chuck a Christmas film on later!

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Theoldwoman I'm so sorry for your loss. 💐 I hope those of you in the red zone are ok.
I've had two coffees and a slice of toast so far.
I'm heading out in a while for second breakfast with a friend. We will blether for Scotland. Then home to potter, maybe write Christmas cards. Later DD, Dsil and I are heading to my aunt and uncle's house for our annual Christmas curry and karaoke night. It's huge fun and the homemade curries are amazing. I won't get home til late.
