Does a one-day-a-week job exist?

I'm looking at a new job. The job description sounds great - howeve it's only 4 days a week. I'd much rather the full salary and to work 5 days a week.

I'm really interested in this job though.

I was wondering if I get it, if I might be able to fill my "spare" day with an extra day's work somehow to top up my income. But do one-day-a-week jobs even exist? On a weekday, I mean - I need to keep the weekends free for the DC.

Depends what you do. You can pick up freelance work for lots of jobs 1 day a week.

Yes, they just aren’t really advertised as no one applies. Typically they are job shares, for example someone cuts their hours down and it’s too awkward to advertise for one days work. You could ask the company if there are any job shares anywhere else in the company to make up the hours for the extra day?

I do 3 separate one day a week jobs currently. All are care work jobs.

That's encouraging, thanks everyone :)

The company I'm going for is probably too small to have another day's work elsewhere, but maybe I could ask around.
