Passport Wait Time - Childs First Passport

Hello

Anyone applied for Child’s first passport recently and how long was the wait time?

I know I can do the one week option however nearest office is 4.5 hours away.

It took less than two weeks for us in the summer!

It is a truth that if you don't need it, you can guarantee it will arrive within 2 weeks

If you have booked a flight you will need nerves of steel.

We sent off for our DD's a couple of weeks ago. We did it online and sent her birth certificate tracked and signed for. The passport arrived 4 or 5 days after they received the bc. We then got the bc back probably about 5 days after that.
All very quick and easy.

We applied for one for DS a couple of months ago - it took less than two weeks to come back once we’d sent off his birth certificate. I was pleasantly surprised.

Last minute decision to look at going away but yes I do think I am really pushing it. One needs a renewal and the other needs first.
19th December is departure date the other 27th December

Agree, guaranteed always to be fast when you don’t need it soon.

Also, possible less staff working over December but not sure.
May have to leave it or look at the one week passport option.
