Reliable charity for furniture collection/donation?

I need to clear my late father's flat. I was initially going to go with British Heart Foundation but I've read very mixed things about how reliable they are. I'm aiming to book the collection for as close to the moving out date as possible as my siblings are still living in the flat so I need to be sure it will be collected when they say it will be. Any recommendations?

BHF were fine for us. Just make sure that anything that has upholstery has the fire info still attached, or they won't be able to take it. But I'm sure you'll have that in hand.

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this.

I’ve used BHF a few times and they have been fine. Arrived when they said they would.

I agree with the comment about fire tags for upholstery. We had a them booked, they turned up and started looking for fire tags (literally straight away!), we’d pulled them off so reattached them ourselves and they would not accept the sofa or the bed. They were in immaculate condition, the sofa was only going because it didn’t fit well in new house.
I would also leave yourself plenty of time for emptying the house incase anything like that happens and you need to find alternative arrangements to take things away

I am in the process of doing similar OP, you have my sympathy, it’s a difficult time. I will probably use BHF. Can anyone advise please as to whether they will come into property to lift stuff out? Have got heavy cabinets etc, that I won’t be able to get outside. Thanks

@Middlemarch123 : Yes, they will .
BHF collected a dining table , 6 chairs , a corner unit and sideboard from us last year .

BHF let me down twice (same house clearance) in 2022. I'm in the South East. I went with Red Cross and they were brilliant,they took a mixture of large items of furniture as well as some smaller things (mirror/pictures etc)

Thank you @Yiayoula , that’s great.

Used BHF three times in total for two completely different areas and been fine each time. There's a form you complete online, they'll confirm via phone for the booking and then call you about 30 mins before they arrive. They'll come in and collect the furniture.

Thanks everyone! I'm surprised that BHF are getting so many recommendations as I've read a lot of negative comments about the collection service but maybe I'll give them a go!
