Do these sell second hand?

We have a lovely Laura Ashley sofa which we no longer need. It's got a few stains on it and it is by no means in a perfect condition. It's not awful but could do with a clean up ( we don't have the tools to do this).

Do these sell second hand or are we best to give it away? Money is tight and we'd rather sell it but I've never sold anything that isn't in a very good condition before so I don't know what a reasonable amount is. We paid about £1k for it 8 years ago.

Has anyone ever sold a mucky ( ish) sofa before?

Try Facebook marketplace maybe? You can search and get an idea of what others are charging, and what sofas go for locally to you.

Marketplace and Gumtree are full of grubby sofas which people are trying to flog. You can try, but I suspect you’d struggle to get them out of the door for nothing, let alone make a sale. Most people have to factor in van hire for collection, and aren’t willing to make that outlay for something which even you describe as old and mucky. I’d put it up for £50 - £100 max and see what happens - and expect a load of people trying to knock you down or ask if you’ll deliver.

Is it worth getting it steam cleaned first? We have companies locally that come and do this for less than £100, depending on size
