Le Creuset Lovers

My partner is a big fan and has a couple of mugs and a couple of pots. Are there any products in particular that you find really useful/enjoyable to use that you would recommend?

I'm tempted to get him the mini ramekins as he likes dipping sauces but I can't think of much else we might use them for, so not sure if that's lame.

He enjoys cooking and was thrilled to get a le creuset pot for a birthday the other year, before anyone says it's like buying a woman an iron!

I don’t like their stoneware but love the cast iron. My favourites are the brasier (either size) or the balti dish (useful for things other than just curries). But it really depends on what he likes to cook.

I have the rectangular oven dishes which get plenty of use.

I use the rectangular oven dishes a lot. If he would like something to display on the counter the oil and vinegar bottles are really nice and I use mine a lot, also the salt pig is nice. I also use the soup bowls a lot, I have lidded and unlidded

I have the bottle shaped oil and vinegar set which I think is a bit nicer looking than the new style they brought out

movinghouse12 · 04/12/2024 07:21

@0nlyM3 and @RedRiverShore5 is it the stoneware rectangular dishes you like?

Interesting to see split opinions!

Had no idea they did soup bowls, can't seem to find them in anything other than the red but he has soup pretty much every day so that could be a winner...

@movinghouse12 Yes. I have lots of them.

TheMotherShipAhoy · 04/12/2024 07:38

The shallow round lidded cast iron casserole is brilliant. I've got two sizes and make everything from rice pudding to risotto to stew in mine.

eBay is great for barely used Le Creuset.

TragicMuse · 04/12/2024 07:40

The buffet casserole! It's a brilliant pan - good size, has a lid, can go in the oven or on the hob. I only don't use it as much because my wrists aren't great these days. But I love it. My mum and sister both have one too and love it!

Kensingswell · 04/12/2024 07:41

I have their salt and pepper Mills. In the orangey red. The colours are gorgeous.

Rainbow321 · 04/12/2024 07:42

Salt & pepper pots ?

Rainbow321 · 04/12/2024 07:43

@Kensingswell

Haha great minds !

movinghouse12 · 04/12/2024 07:45

And just like that I think I am sorted!

He loves orange and I see they don't make the soup pots in volcanic orange now, but I found two with no chips or cracks and lids on eBay for under £50 including postage. I think he'll be delighted with those, he often gets distracted and his soup can go cold. He genuinely eats soup every single day (except for summer to be fair), so they will get lots of use.

So pleased I started this thread, thanks everyone and especially @RedRiverShore5 as I had no idea they did soup bowls.

More than happy for the suggestions to keep coming though as I think his collection will expand over time Grin

I have a jug/mixing bowl combo type thing in volcanic that I love - great for making custard or I use it when making smaller cakes, crumble etc.

Also a mug in a new colour. I have several on rotation for my tea.

Cafetiere, kitchen utensils pot? Eggcups? And we've a lovely big teapot, also in volcanic.

TheLittleOldWomanWhoShrinks · 04/12/2024 07:48

X posts! Well done for your find.

Glad you’re sorted!

I treated myself to a pair of pretty pale egg cups in the sale last year - I have boiled eggs most days for breakfast and they make eating them a pleasure. A little daily treat for myself.

I also have the salt mill in volcanic orange and a butter dish in a sunny yellow, both of which really brighten up my kitchen counters.

RedRiverShore5 · 04/12/2024 08:06

Glad you managed to get the soup bowls, I have red with no lids and I got the orange with lids when I saw them in the outlet shop, they all get used loads. I bet he will love them.
