Lodger

Hello, Just wondering if anyone can clarify something

I divorced my ex, brought them out the house all that is done legally with a solicitor

However they now want to try for a second chance (it's been a few years and we still get on well)

Needless to say I'm a bit dubious but this is not what the thread is about

I own the house with a mortgage

*If they sign a lodgers agreement

*We have no shared bank accounts

*No shared cars insurance or anything else

I assume I am not liable for anything they do financially and they can make no future claims on my property (was jointly owned but now just me and a mortgage)

We have kids together so I'm partly trying it again for them as we have been getting on but I also want the freedom to end it easily if it does not work out

People rarely change - are you sure about this?!

It would be heartbreaking for your children if you separated again

I did assume with no lodges agreement he would still have no grounds to claim

It was also partly to get the rent agreement in writing as well, start off as you mean to go on and all that

It's only a maybe and will not be till next year

I'm just starting to give the practicalities some thought

It may or may not happen, I just don't want to get caught unprepared and want to know my options so to speak
