You know the type with the tap? I need a large jar but I don't want the tap - is there a way to remove the plug and replace it with some sort of airtight plug does anyone know?

You could with the one we have, unscrew the nut to release the tap then plug the hole with a bung of the right size. I wouldn't rely on it though.

You can get Kilner jars up to at least 3l capacity, and if it's a liquid a demijohn is 4.5l.

Thanks. It's just making sure that the bung is the right size that's problematic, isn't it?

I recently filled the hole in a plant pot to make it watertight using a rubber cork then sealed it with a glue gun to be extra sure.
