Seafancy's return policy

It's surprising that customers have to pay for their own return shipping. What if they send the wrong item or a damaged one? Do customers still have to cover the return shipping? I couldn't find this in their policy. My main concern is whether they process refunds smoothly, especially for sizing issues. Has anyone bought from them recently?

I returned the swimsuit and exchange for another one, but both the return and exchange shipping costs were on me...The person handling my emails was very helpful and responded quickly, but I'm still not happy with this return policy.

I chose my usual size instead of the one on the website, and they fit perfectly

LittleLifeboats · 03/12/2024 07:23

What a hassle! I sent the return to the address they provided, and two days later, I got an email saying the refund was approved. But guess what? It took another eight days before I actually saw the money.

Shanna221 · 03/12/2024 07:48

Unsure about the size? I asked customer service, and their recommendation fit perfectly.

The return shipping I paid was way too high. After several emails back and forth, this was their reply:
How about you keep the item(s) and we refund you 50% of the items you want to return as compensation? Hope you understand that this is the best compensation we can offer. Please consider it.
I decided to accept and sold the item on Vinted to almost break even.

No need to pay for return shipping, but hopefully, you won’t have to deal with this.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t so lucky. I ordered two sets. One arrived damaged, and the other was the wrong item. I was furious, especially since I was about to travel abroad. Customer service said they’d review it before resolving the issue. In the end, they let me choose between a full refund or replacements without needing to return the items. I went with replacements, and they fit perfectly, though I only got to try them after I returned home.😒

Last month, I ordered a few swimsuits, but they turned out to be a bit too big. Customer service offered me some options, and I decided to keep the swimsuits and take a gift card to cover the cost of smaller sizes. The first swimsuit I gave to a friend, and she loves it. Now we're both happy with the fit!

@SingingSandy you do need to pay for return shipping for seafancy their returns policy has you return it to New York in the US so postage is so freaking high they offer you a solution of you keep the swimwear and they will refund 65% of the cost, the reason I know this is because it happened to me. I should have researched before buying.

Amazon have free returns, lots of choice, good quality swimwear and I would choose that any day over seafancy as I was left with swimwear that didn't fit me.

My refund went smoothly, but it was not a recent refund, it was in October.

CloudCraze · 04/12/2024 08:05

The suit was cute and the price was good, but the company seemed a little hesitant to return it. I accidentally ordered a size xs suit so I had to email them first to take a picture of that swimming costume and go through the verification process, and I didn't get a return address initially so I had to send another email before I was able to return it to get my money back.

Tomorrowwillbebetteryes · 04/12/2024 08:32

The experience was average. Just email communication, and they told me I should receive the refund within 5-15 business days.

NappyChangerExtraordinaire · 05/12/2024 08:51

The sizes match US sizing, and if I'd known, I’d have ignored the size chart. Although they’re cute, neither of the two swimsuits I bought fit me—both ended up being worn by my sister.

adensmith · 05/12/2024 09:12

Just a quick chat. I've bought from them three times. They feel like a newer company. With awkward but well-meaning customer service. One swimsuit, after five days, still hadn't shipped, which was strange. Just as I was about to ask, I got an email saying it was out of stock and asking if I'd accept a wait or exchange.I was both annoyed and amused, so I chose a full refund. That said, their swimsuits are the most supportive I've bought, which is why I've put up with it.

@FizzWizzLiz you might want to look on review websites for Seafancy and also google mumsnet and seafancy for older posts because MN's search function isn't great to see how unhappy people are with it.

I am not alone in being completely unaware that a co.uk company says yes you can return it but do not detail it is to the USA and the associated costs are on you. They acknowledge that in the email when you request the return, they know it is expensive and I am happy to copy/paste their email to me stating this. That is why they offer partial refunds and keep the swimwear. I mean who else does this? Is it because it looks good statistically that they sold X number and had Y number of returns?

It also took 3 emails to request the refund, each time uploading the photos for the costumes I ordered. I stupidly ordered more than one costume too as they were gorgeous but did not fit despite going off their measurements. The Amazon ones were the same quality with a much easier return process.

Yes, I'm keeping an eye on it. Their return policy isn't entirely clear. Thanks for your advice!
