Toddler weaning -Engorged, help!

Weaning 2.2 yo off the breast. I thought my supply had nearly dried up but my breasts are actually quite engorged. I used a hand pump last night to express to comfort but this morning my boobs are like boulders and painful. Should I keep pumping off small amounts until my boobs are soft and painless again? I got 90 ml last night and that was only a small bit, they were still quite engorged.

Help please?

I wouldn't use a pump. I'd just hand express a little bit to relieve it, maybe in the shower so the warm water helps a bit.

Have you gone cold turkey with breastfeeding, or reducing slowly?

Don’t pump so much
hand express a tiny bit each day to relieve the worst of it
savoy cabbage leaves in your bra will help
Sudafed can help dry up milk
i did cold turkey when my DD was three and this all helped
congrats on your breastfeeding journey 💐

Thank you both. We have kind of gone cold turkey? Was 2-3 times per day, now zero. Had a couple bouts of illness (noro a few weeks back, last week the flu) so have had moments where she’s wanted to feed more and I guess that’s brought my supply up a bit? Haven’t nursed since Sunday midday, boobs are aching and like rocks now. Only did a pump last night (90ml) and a small bit this morning (40-50ml) with a handpump. But my boobs are still quite sore and feel like they have rocks inside 😭

And thank you @rubyslippers for the flowers, I feel a bit guilty about weaning but after all of the illnesses I really feel depleted and can’t go on anymore. DD was a bit upset Sunday evening but less so yesterday and even said “I’m big, I don’t need more mummy’s milk ” and we just had a nice cuddle instead of BF.
