Speeding

Not looking for sympathy or getting off. I was doing 37 mph on a 30mph A road. I got a speeding notice.

I know no one has a crystal ball but will I get points, or will I get a speed awareness course and a fine?

First offence, chances are you will get the choice between the awareness course and penalty points/fine.
The difference in cost is minimal.
I speak from experience and I chose the speed awareness course.
You know what? I enjoyed it. It was an online course, non-judgy and really informative.
Obviously it's best not to be caught speeding. But it doesn't have to he the worst either.
(Side effect of the course is that I'm a speed awareness bore now.)

This just happened to me. West Mids Police. They gave a choice.

Very unlikely to be anything more than a course, as long as you haven’t done one in the past 2 years.

It waa indeed the course. Did it last week and it was brilliant!
