Help! Have received my P45....

.....I am off sick currently and today received my P45. I am worried sick. I have contacted my supervisor who has told me to contact payroll. I am mentally ill and just cannot cope with this on top of everything else.
Has anyone else had this happen?

I got mine on maternity leave (a long time ago). It was a payroll mistake. Hopefully all is ok and yours was an error too, especially as your supervisor seems unaware.

I hope so. I will hopefully find out what's going on tomorrow, but I think it is appalling to do this to someone who is mentally very ill, mistake or not.

Why tomorrow? It's still working hours are they not available this afternoon? It must be so stressful for you, but you can't be fired while off sick so try not to worry.

No one there to help, I suppose they finish at 4pm. I just feel done with it all, the smallest thing sends me spiralling, lately it's been one thing after another. I am having psychiatric help but still early days.

Sorry to hear that I hope you get well soon.

Be reassured if they have fired you without consultation you can go through ACAS and get a nice tidy payment from them.

I know how you feel, a company I used to work for sent me (us all) a posted letter about their "death in service" policy when they knew I was off long-term sick because of multiple suicide attempts.

Hope things turn a corner for you soon.

I'd assume it was a payroll error if your supervisor has asked you to contact payroll and you haven't heard anything from a manager/HR about a dismissal or redundancy etc. Try not to stress (easy to say I know).

I know that mistakes can happen but that is appalling. I hope you are well now?
