In case anyone hasn't opened their JL app for a while, and if you have notifications turned off you might not have known about their December treats thing - today is the first day and it's a box of Monty Bojangles chocolates (there were a choice of six kinds when I went to collect, and we were allowd to choose). You have to open the link by tonight, but you can still collect it for the next couple of days. they were very popular today and had several customer service people directing customers to get them, so they might not last too long (it's only while stocks last). It would make a nice present for someone.

I expect the rest of the days will be mostly competition entries or 10% off some random things that I never buy, so it was nice that I could take advantage of the first one that might be the only real 'freebie'!

What other shops are doing similar? M&S have stopped their this year. Fat Face used to do a competition entry every day for the first couple of weeks of December, but I can't find any links to that this year either. And none of the others that I have apps for seem to do them - there are a few tied into instagram but i am not on there, and I don't like the ones where you have to follow a company and also tag friends, so I don't enter those. I don't mind where you just enter daily though if it's easy to do, but I like the ones where you can click on things and win, like JL and the old M&S one. Cafe Nero does a cracker thing, but you have to buy a coffee first to get it.

Asda rewards have a thing on the app when you spend £5 or more you get an entry - I won £10 today!

oh that's lucky.

Sainsbury's actually do quite a lot of bonus points if you use the nectar app and save your offers each Monday. I don't get many normal points but mostly via the bonus points. It still takes a long time to build up points, but it gets there eventually and they have various promotions for more bonuses. The Christmas one isn't that good for me, but sometimes people get different ones. I just get bonus of few hundred points a few times, which comes to a total of about £3 overall! other years I've had the double up one, which was much better.

you're welcome. I hope there are a couple more freebies or at least discounts in it that I'd find useful, but realistically I expect this was the good one...

Thanks for that OP, I’m not going to JL but I might do now. I wonder what Swindon has done to upset them!

Boots are doing a 12 Days of Magic thing on their app. I got an offer for 4 green-stickered items for the price of 2 today. I won’t use it (I don’t buy many presents) but it’s not a bad prize for people who buy for lots of folk.

BlossomToLeaves · 01/12/2024 22:22

thanks, I've just tried that one and got the same as you; also probably won't use it, but I'll keep checking back for Boots ones
