Invisalign cost yes or no

I’m thinking of having invisalign but am sure of how good it is. I’m in my fifties. I had train track braces a few years ago which straightened my front teeth but I didn’t wear my retainer and so they’ve moved back. They are not majorly out of line. The two teeth either side of the front ones sit back too far.

Has anyone had invsalign, how much did you pay and how long did the treatment take. Would you recommend it please.

I paid around £4k back in 2021 which included whitening and a fixed retainer . It took around 8 months in total. I wear the night time retainers every night as well and teeth still looking good. Was well worth it for me and glad i did it.

I had really bag over crowding and I HATED my teeth. I took 2 years and £4,500 which is expensive. It was so worth it. I always used to hide my smile in photos and cover my mouth when I laughed. I get shocked my people compliment me on my teeth now, something I thought would never happen. If you can afford it, do it. You won’t regret it. You do have to be disciplined with wearing tho for the full 22 hours a day.

I’m sure you’re teeth aren’t as bad as mine were, but Invisalign can work really effectively

Omg that’s exactly what my teeth look like. It’s uncanny. Do you me asking how much you paid.

I paid £4.5k in 2023 and it took about 9 months - best money I’ve ever spent!

I had braces as a teen but stopped wearing my retainer when I went to uni 😅 I NEVER miss a night of wearing my retainer after Invisalign!!

£4,500 and the included a fixed retainer and a night time retainer. I would highly recommend going to an orthodontist as opposed to a dentist.

I had attachments On almost every tooth so they aren’t as invisible as they made out, and filing on a lot of teeth to made room for movement otherwise I would of had to have a tooth extraction. Highly highly recommended it tho!

I paid I think £3.5k but I used a different brand. Invisalign is a brand, and an alternative one was cheaper. I'm really pleased with them. Yes it's a pain taking them out to eat and drink, then you brush your teeth before putting them back in again. And I have to wear a retainer every night. But totally worth it.

I've never had braces, but I know my DC will need them, do you have to use the retainer every night forever after ?

Yes every night for the rest of your life to keep your teeth straight ☺️

I think you do or they’ll move back. I wish that had been fully explained to me and I wouldn’t be in this position.

That said my son had train track braces as a teenager and he didn’t wear his retainer for long. His teeth didn’t move back so that kind of disproves what I said about them moving back.

Yes or you can have a permanent brace put in behind your teeth so you can't see it.

SuperBored · 01/12/2024 20:14

Gosh thanks for the replies, didn't realise it would have to be forever 😱

Delatron · 01/12/2024 20:19

You get used to it. I wear a retainer every night. I don’t think about it.

My 16 yo dd1 has recently had her braces taken off after 12 months. She has BOTH the fixed retainers AND the removable ones for night time, to be worn indefinitely.
