Evri non-delivery

Evri were due to deliver a retailer's parcel on Thursday. Tracking states they were sorry, but it would now be next working day. Except nothing was delivered on Friday and the tracking hasn't been updated. There was someone in the whole time. We've had two other deliveries by Evri, including an Amazon delivery, presumably by different drivers. I've contacted the retailer but it'll take them a couple of days to respond. Has anyone had similar happen and what was the outcome?

Happened to me and they told me I had to pay postage fee as no one answered..but they didn't actually attempt delivery🙄..I contacted the retailer and they ordered a replacement to be sent, it came in around 3days.

Second Evri thread today! You'd think that retailers would get sick of the hassle caused by certain companies. They must be much cheaper than rivals.

Happened to me recently. After the first delivery 'attempt' (I was home grr!), there was no change of status for a whole week despite Evri's website saying they'd try again the next working day. In the meantime, I contacted the retailer and eventually (they insisted on waiting 7 days) they sent a replacement. Evri then finally tried to redeliver my original order and left it in a totally different building (i.e. not my address and not somewhere I can access) and it was stolen. Total shitshow. I complained and Evri allegedly spoke to the delivery's person's manager. My other Evri delivery people are fine but particular one made even a chocolate teapot look more useful.

Thanks everyone. They haven't even attempted delivery so it's not as if they are claiming they've tried. One of the other deliveries made by Evri was a driver who has been repeatedly leaving things in full view on our drive instead of coming to the house. There used to be a local Evri courier who was just brilliant. The tracking on this parcel still hasn't been updated since Thursday so it'll be for the retailer to follow up with them/replace.

I've spoken with the retailer. Customer services checked and have said they are treating it as lost in transit. They offered me a refund or a reorder. I opted for a reorder which was then put through by the agent. Except I've received no confirmation by email. And then I discovered their Black Friday event means if I'd opted for a refund I could reorder myself for £50 quid less. Obviously I now can't get through on the phone!! I've WhatsApp'd them and asked them can they please refund me the difference in price or cancel...
