I work in retail. I'm off Christmas Day then straight back in for Boxing Day. Yippee

What sort of a break are you getting? Make me jealous

I teach so have 3 weeks off, but DH works in theatre so has 2 days off this year. (25th and 26th).

Yes, 20th Dec until 6th Jan.

Same for me. Have our own business and it is already manic in pre-christmas phase, and feel lucky we can take 2 weeks at Christmas. We generally only have 2 weeks other holiday during the year, and regularly bring work home , so Christmas is our main time off.

I am SE and only have 2 days a week max booked now until 20th December when I will finish completely until around 13th January.
If anyone wants me I am unlikley to turn down work but not much happens in my line of work over xmas/NY and I wamt as much time as possible with DD while she's home from Uni

Self employed and my work tends to go fairly quiet. So I'll probably give myself two or three weeks, with a few hours of admin here and there.

I have family members working over Christmas, and one on standby so I do sympathise.

2 weeks - finish on the 20th December and back on 6th January. I usually only have a week so this is even more of a treat!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/11/2024 23:20

Working Xmas eve then the 27th then back on 2nd for year end close. Last year I did all three days in between. Work in finance.

JennyTals · 30/11/2024 23:20

I think it's so sad shops opening on boxing day

Give the staff a break

TvToastBedPerfect · 30/11/2024 23:23

Most likely 2 weeks , maybe 3 I shall decide after 2 when the children go back to school if I need a week to recover from the madness 🙃

None. Working Christmas & Boxing Day & New Year

ilovesooty · 30/11/2024 23:42

I'm self employed. I'm finishing on the evening of the 23rd and returning on 2nd January.
