Anyone clued up on Syria?

Is this just another fight or is al-Assad likely to lose to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham? Will he and the rest of those in his regime flee to friendly countries?

I'm curious what the possible outcomes are and what they would mean.

This is western backed terrorists trying to destabilise Syria even more. They won't succeed.

Assad is a Russian backed despot. Was a medic in the UK for a while, Opthalmologist? Not averse to chemical weapons and I guess the usual torture, execution games. All this just drives the population to flee their country and seek a better life in the mid east or Europe.
