Why? A drawer is suitable for a small baby if there's no other space.

I assume the OP is referring to the recent news story of a baby who was kept in a drawer for three years which is abuse
the OP should have maybe been more specific

pretty sure there is already a thread on this, with much discussion re the length of prison time

It's in reference to the recent case in the news. No one puts babies in drawers anymore anyway. It's not the 1940s.

There’s another long thread on this. The mother kept the child in a bed drawer for just short of three years. The child had never interacted with anyone else and was found by chance. Her growth restricted because if lack of exercise, being cramped etc… Birth concealed, unregistered, never seen a doctor, had a cleft palate and improperly fed. Obviously something seriously wrong in the mother’s life to make her treat her baby like this.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 30/11/2024 19:34

It's less to do with the sleeping accommodation and more to do with the rest of the time and parental behaviour.

Here's the already going thread:

Well why didn't she say that? I thought someone had put a little baby to sleep in a drawer like they used to do.

If you're referring to the case that was in the media, threads were running about that days ago. Join one of them.

This thread needs to be deleted. There is no trigger warning on it or anything. It's a horrific case that people need to be warned about. As as has been said, there is a thread running already about it. Been going for days!

Yeah, same here...

I thought the same thing as you and I have read about the recent case.

You can't know that. I bet people do, it's quite a good alternative to a basket. And people do use those baby boxes.
