Ordered a custom item and today it arrived.

I thought the quality of the image was nothing like the advertised photos. Colours were dull and images blurry.

I emailed and said I didn't feel it was quite as advertised and if I returned it would I please be able to have another done and sent out.

I was polite but did state I wasn't happy with it.

It's a present for DD.

I showed DH and he pointed out there's a slightly frosted, protective film over it.
He peeled it back and the item was lovely underneath.

I emailed seller immediately to confess my mistake and apologise but I feel like a right plonker!!

They won’t worry, in fact they will be very relieved all is ok. So don’t you worry anymore. Just leave them lovely feedback

I agree, just leave some nice feedback. The seller has probably forgotten already

I wouldn’t worry, you contacted them again straight away and it sounds like something they could do with putting on their product description. When I had an Etsy shop I put every little thing on there, because what seemed obvious to me wasn’t obvious to some customers!
I remember saying to DH that the bathroom suppliers had sent us blue cabinet doors and what a pain it would be to have to rethink the colour scheme for the walls. Yep, it was protective film and I’m very glad I didn’t mention it to the company Grin

I did that with my oven 🤣 Thought they'd sent us one with a blue window.

In my defense the film was very hard to see even when he pointed it out.

Reminds me of the Amazon reviews for visors during covid. Customers returning them because they couldn't see out of them. Same thing. Covered for transport.

It happens, don't worry about it OP.

I did this with some acrylic display stands to show my work. I ordered clear ones but blue ones arrived.
I messaged the seller to explain his mistake, and he then replied explaining mine, as the blue was actually a protective film.
Like you OP I messaged back with heartfelt thanks for a fantastic product, great service, wonderful communication skills etc, you get the picture!.....all with a red face!

A long time ago but my extreme daftness about a new oven that came with (gasp) a digital display was shouting in an exasperated tone at my friend,

"I don't know what it is, I don't know what it does but it was showing different numbers earlier, I swear to God I haven't touched it, it's not got hot, nothing's happening but the numbers keep changing!"

"That, my dearest, would be the clock." he said and then he twiddled the knobs, set it to the right time and the veil lifted before my eyes.

"Oh, thankyou Paulie. How useful. Fancy having a clock on an oven."
