I'm in so much (physical) pain and need distraction as I've maxed out pain relief

Aww thanks, the first one showed up just after we'd lost our two elderly cats (19), we swore no more cats - despite living rurally, we are on a busy road. Anyway they found me!! Husband not totally over the moon, so I've compromised in that the recent four are only allowed in half the house. I think the kittens will only come in on a night and for food, however, Pudding (dad cat) is gonna be a total lap cat, can't actually believe he's feral, he's so loving and cleans his kittens all the time, he was definitely ready to hang up his walking boots and find a soft bed.

(I also have 7 chickens, a dog and two guinea pigs - and another feral is showing up for food on a night now...ssshhh)

online game bookworm is good for distraction. you have to keep going as it gets harder the more levels you go through.

you just need to click on adjacent letters in order to make a word. if you make too many short words 3 letters, you get a burning tile that you need to use in a word before it gets to the bottom as then it burns the library down.

It's very good if you want to take your mind off stuff.

I became a grandmother a couple of weeks ago and I just adore that little babbie!

Sorry you’re in so much pain. I’m thinking of things that could hook your interest and take your mind off it.

I don’t have pets, but I’d like a cuddly dog, I’m also renting & have white carpet everywhere which would make it tricky.

Instead I’ll throw down some maybe thought-provoking nuggets or at least glimpse into other peoples lives.

I listen to a podcast called This Jungian Life and at the end of every episode a listener submits their dream and 3 American psychoanalysts analyse the dream with all the metaphors etc. It’s fascinating.

Now: Christmas presents:

• I’m getting my parents those books called “Tell me your story, dad”, which have prompts about your parents’ first job, best friend when they were a teen, worst subject in school etc.
• I may also get my dad pottery lessons for his birthday
• I am pondering the logistics of sending Xmas gifts to relatives abroad - posting date is 18 December
• I have teenage boys and one loves high-end artisanal fragrance so I splashed out on a Jo Malone one for him
• my other son I found some second hand golf clubs on Facebook which he wants.
• not sure what I want - I did buy myself Persiana, a cookbook of middle eastern food the other day, as a treat.
