Am I the only one who spends a ridiculous amount of time on Rightmove even though I'm not looking to move

I seem to spend so much time looking at Rightmove even though I'm happy where I am. Today's searches have been: cottages in Frome, Bloomsbury apartment, Primrose Hill houses and houses in Boscastle. A very eclectic mix both location and budget wise.

Does anyone else find themselves doing this?

Yep I daydream of the places I would like to move to..... Scarborough especially. ❤️

toadinthecoal · 28/11/2024 20:05

Yes, I have found my people.

If anyone would like to waste their time I need a safe secure place to live for my 18 year old and their friend. One is happy to sleep on the sofa. Ideally less than £900 a month oh and it's the Isle of Man....

ItsFreedomBabyYeah · 28/11/2024 20:06

It's my absolute favourite past time. I love looking at homes I could never dream to afford.

Dr13Hadley · 28/11/2024 20:09

Yep all the time. Look for equestrian properties in the country to house all the horses I want to buy! It's a nice daydream.

I play tropical island fantasy Robinson Crusoe lifestyle property hunt. Normally when the neighbours are kicking off or I've had a utility bill.

Problem is, I start off being happy with a beach hut and within half an hour I've raised my expectations to having a private dock with big game fishing boat, a coconut grove, a mango plantation and...

I do this too! I set myself a budget. Then think ah fuck it, the budget is imaginary so I can afford £20million 😂

spanieleyes · 28/11/2024 20:12

All the time. And I have different houses to buy depending on how much I win. So I have a £1m house, a £3.5m house, a £12m house and a £sky's the limit house!

calmandcollected101 · 28/11/2024 20:13

Yes 😂funny you posted this I just came off Zoopla looking at my dream home

SquigglePigs · 28/11/2024 20:19

Yeah, I enjoy a little "wander around" sometimes! It's amazing what you can trip over.

It fascinates me the differences in what a certain amount of money will get you in different parts of the country.

Peony15 · 28/11/2024 20:30

Bloomsbury apt , ideally close to Lambs Conduit Street. Real Fireplace. High ceilings, not modernized. Roof terrace.
Or hidden anything down a cobbled mews.
Audrey Fforbes-Hamilton type lodge/gate house.
Wooden lodge with verandah overlooking the sea.
A real "
The Holiday " cottage.
Shere is very pretty, even though cottage is a set design.
Anything with a walled garden or old green house.
Anything quirky, historic.
Wish Rightmove had more boxes to
tick
to narrow down searches.
My favourite website. Spent way too much time on it.

Thatwouldbeme · 28/11/2024 20:38

Me too, usually remote houses, think remote Scottish islands then I do 30 mile radius and move along😁also wales

fanaticalfairy · 28/11/2024 20:39

£25 million and you have to go downstairs for the loo or a cuppa if you want to use the main living room.

Madness.

ChitterChatter1987 · 28/11/2024 20:41

Haha I'm guilty of this too....just interesting to see what houses you can get for what money etc

5128gap · 28/11/2024 20:42

Ever since I can remember I've been obsessed with the insides of people's houses. I love seeing how they decorate, the furniture they choose. Right move is the only thing that stands between me and the sort of weirdo who stares into other peoples windows. My personal favourite is tiny terraced houses, so i set my filter, and marvel at how lovely and cosy people make them and the creative use of space.

birdiesings · 28/11/2024 20:45

We are looking to move, but as it's the off-season, there's almost fuck-all new properties being added so at least our Rightmove browsing has curtailed somewhat.

Phonicshaskilledmeoff · 28/11/2024 20:45

Every day. Sometimes just want to see what we could afford if I quit my job.

rockingbird · 28/11/2024 20:53

nationalsausagefund · 28/11/2024 21:02

I like to do imaginary renovations on the ones I find: click straight to the floor plan and see what I’d knock down, what I’d reinstate, how to change and adapt it to my liking. It’s far quicker and less dusty than an actual reno, and free! I can flip six dozen houses a night, easy.

LazyArsedMagician · 28/11/2024 21:22

I do it a lot. I like recreating my favourites on the sims Grin

Itwasnttrue · 28/11/2024 21:26

Yes I also do this!

It did result in buying our current house, though, when we "weren't looking to move"!

So be careful...

JumpstartMondays · 28/11/2024 21:27

Me: skips reading the OP and goes straight to Rightmove 🤣

Jmaho · 28/11/2024 21:38

Oh I'm always on Rightmove. I finally love where I live though even though u don't have a huge, fancy house. But even if I won the lottery my main house would be in the village where I live.
I am irrationally upset that my lottery win house sold this week though! It was perfect

RetroTotty · 28/11/2024 21:49

Amazing property!
