Security tag on clothes

Does anyone know a foolproof way of removing the security tag from clothes? Or if they use dye these days?

I've had a cardigan delivered from Zara and its got a tag attached ...I'm aware I could just send it back but I want the cardigan for this weekend! I don't have a Zara store anywhere nearby otherwise I'd just take it in there.

(And yes ...I'm aware of how suspicious this sounds but I promise I'm genuine 😅).

There’s been a previous thread about this, try a search? Or is there another retailer near you that can help remove it if you go in with the packaging and receipt? Take something with your name on, driving licence etc. to prove it’s yours?

Loads of videos on YouTube to help. Or take it with receipt to another store and ask them to remove it.

I used a lighter to melt the top bit, and used fork to prise it off. It worked, no damage to a sweater it was on. I you tubed it.

I had this and I took it to sainsburys where they know me with the proof of payment and they removed it no problem.
I didn't trust myself not to ruin my expensive top

I’ve used a high strength magnet to remove a tag from a top that snuck through with a tag on it.
