VTech Kiddi dJ drums. Suitable for 8 year old?

I really like the look of these and my ds ( who is 8 ) wants an instrument for Christmas. It's currently on offer so just wondering if anyone has purchased one and if they think it will be ok for an 8 year old.
I don't want ds to think it's a bit babyish, but from the photos it looks like it does quite a lot.

I would buy a proper drum kit for a child that age if you think they’d make use of them.

@TessaT My 4yo just got the VTech ones for his birthday. There are various levels etc for all the games - DS is doing the basic ones just now.
I think it would be fine for your 8yo but wouldn’t expect him to get very long out of the game features etc.
