How do you operate Hive heating with no internet?

It's a hypothetical musing not an actual situation, but we've just had a Hive Hub and thermostat installed and it's got me thinking.

When we moved in, I feel like it was about ten days before we had an internet connection. If that's still as long as it takes, how do people moving into houses with Hive type controls mange heating and hot water in the interim?

Use the control panel?

I have hive and it was installed before my internet was sorted.

I couldn't use my Nest at all when the wifi went down.

You just use the thermostat control
We have hive but don't have the Internet bit connected up as don't need the remote settings. I just run it off the thermostat wall panel.

I think it still works from the thermostat thing just can't use the app to control it remotely

Thanks all! The hub is plugged into the router and I didn't realise the thermostat would work without it.
