Hi, has anyone been to Vegas as a wedding guest, and if so how much did it cost you please? Just trying to get a ball park figure! Thanks 😊

What time of year and how many days?

NOTcentreparcsandNOTatrifle · 25/11/2024 14:36

I've never done it as a wedding guest, but I have been to Vegas.

It will cost you whatever the flight costs, plus whatever the accommodation costs plus money for food/tips/taxis and some spending money. Also factor in a wedding outfit and a wedding present, getting an ESTA (if applicable) and the cost of a passport if you don't have a valid one.

Unless, of course, you already live in the US - you haven't included a single relevant detail such as where you will be travelling from, what time of year the wedding is or what sort of accommodation you prefer so nobody is going to be able to answer your question.

London to Las Vegas, 4 nights in a hotel on the strip seems to be £1200.

not as a guest, we got married there - but 5 nights in a mid range hotel in 2019 was £800 each, room only with BA. That was in the February.

Thank you so much.

As I said, looking for a ball park on a forum where someone may have done it. Asked how much it cost them. That's not you. Was not asking for people with no clue to respond.

Have a good day.

Yes but it was 14 years ago. Cost no more than a holiday to Vegas plus a wedding gift

Em3009 · 25/11/2024 15:34

I got married in Vegas this year - September

5 nights in a hotel middle of strip cost around £2.2K for 2 of us with direct flights.

I think we spent around £1500 - £2000 or so whilst there but that included a little gambling, food, drinks and activities that we did! I will say some things are mega expensive and some are perfectly normal priced so you can do it on a budget if you want to :)

Time of year will be the biggest factor in costs for you x

"people with no clue"?

You haven't exactly given many clues in your OP.

I could give you a ballpark figure for (say) travelling from LHR to Vegas with four nights in a hotel on the Strip in February, but I have absolutely no idea if that is relevant to what you want to do or where you are travelling from.

The good old days. No way is it that cheap now unfortunately.

QforCucumber · 25/11/2024 16:27

@Mylifeisamesssuchamess I was intrigued so just had a quick look on BA, for 2 people room only on the strip (Paris) in Feb coming up it's £1,850 from Newcastle, so not too much of an increase compared to 5 years ago (we stayed New York New York mind and that's much more)

StMarie4me · 25/11/2024 18:13

Thank you to all who have been helpful and given me some clue as to what I may be looking at. 😊

Best tip I've got is book the hotels separately through one of the US sites (Vegas.com has great rates) or the hotel sites direct. A package through a UK provider will be slightly more costly.

Do you know if it will be during the week or weekend? And do you plan to be in the same hotel as the wedding party?

For eg: Planet Hollywood for 3 week nights in mid-Jan through Vegas.com is $63 (roughly £50) but through a UK site such as Expedia is £206 for 3 nights.
However, over the weekend of that mid-point in Jan, Planet Hollywood for 3 nights is $624 (£497ish) for 3 nights through Vegas.com compared with £701 through Expedia.

Yeah you can occasionally get ok deals for random weeks but a different week could be £1000 more.

Pinkbendyman · 29/11/2024 21:23

Me and DH are going to Vegas for 7 nights, end of February next year.

The total cost of the hotel (room only) and flights was £3200.

Add to that:

ESTA each
Resort fee (approx. $30 per room per night)
Travel insurance
Spending money

As a PP has mentioned, you should hopefully save money by buying flights separately from the hotel. We got a package from a travel agency.
