Help - I have 10 bananas

10 bananas at the peak of ripeness.
Another couple of days before they spoil.

What shall I do with them?

Banana bread of course. Weren't you around during the pandemic?

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 24/11/2024 14:06

Make banana bread. Make two or three banana breads and freeze the spare(s).

Or just freeze the bananas (out of their skins) until you have time to cook with them, or make smoothies with them.

Age old suggestion of banana bread - or muffins!

Mix mashed with eggs for pancakes

Stick a lollipop stick through and coat with chocolate before popping in freezer for a later date

Chop into chunks and freeze for smoothies in the future

Buy a jar of dulce de leche caramel sauce and dip them in before eating whole 😂

Banana pancakes are pretty good. Or you can just peel and freeze the bananas for later use

SilenceInside · 24/11/2024 14:07

Freeze them in slices and then blend to make "icecream". Banana bread, banana muffins, pancakes with mashed banana in the mix. Can all be frozen.

Banana smoothie tomorrow with the least ripe one
Banana and blueberry muffins
Banana bread with cinnamon and chopped roasted nuts
Banana porridge

ForPearlViper · 24/11/2024 14:15

Do what most of us do with them. Freeze them with intentions of doing banana bread or something. Forget all about them. Find them in bottom of freezer in several months' time. Throw them away.

Owmyelbow · 24/11/2024 14:15

Have some banana and custard while you consider your options

toastedcrumpetsrock · 24/11/2024 14:16

Blitz them with milk for banana milkshake

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 24/11/2024 14:22

Slice them and freeze them - can make banana 'ice cream' or just add to smoothies.

And if you don't want to freeze all 10 or do a pile of baking, have a smoothie for breakfast for the next couple of days. I normally blitz with a handful of frozen berries and a splash of milk.

MrsSkylerWhite · 24/11/2024 14:22

Do you also have duct tape?

Whoohoo! Minted.

Singleandproud · 24/11/2024 14:24

Freeze them.
Put them in the blender + add Nutella/peanut butter/ strawberries whatever your preferred flavouring, blend
Put in individual containers and freeze
Healthy breakfast 'ice cream' or a dessert for ay time.

Thevelvelletes · 24/11/2024 15:21

Cut them up put them in the freezer forget about them.
Put them in the air fryer thinking they're parboiled potato slices.
Come back to puddle of mush in the air fryer.

Finally my procrastination has paid off! I have just the thing (06:35 if it doesn't start there)

My useless knowledge is finally useful. I've reached full circle procrastination, I'm the Buddha of idleness and delaying!

Freeze them then put them in a blender with cocoa powder and almonds. You honestly wouldn’t know it’s not ice cream.

Tisfortired · 24/11/2024 22:38

In my house 10 bananas would disappear in 10 minutes 😂 I buy about 4/5 bunches a week.

But if you do not have a house full of hungry banana mad boys I would make a banoffee pie, and put the rest in the freezer to add to smoothies. (I can’t face any more banana bread.)
